Oleochemical Research Laboratory
Hazardous Reaction Laboratory” does not receive its name because the laboratory is hazardous or the reaction studied in the laboratory is hazardous. The name of our laboratory is only to remind all chemical engineering students that most of chemical reactions are hazardous if they are not treated carefully. Hazardous Reaction Laboratory was set up in 1989 with the supports from research grant and donation from industries. Researches conducted in Hazardous Reaction Laboratory can be divided in many areas including petrochemical reaction (reforming, hydrogenation, hydrotreating. Etc.), catalyst deactivation (metal deposition), purification of petroleum products (hydrotreatment, reactive extraction of sulfur from diesel and fuel oil, adsorption of heavy metal). Computer design, simulation an optimization of selected unit operation (adsorption), and water treatment using adsorption techniques.
