Center of Excellence on Catalysis and Catalytic Reaction Engineering

Center of Excellence on Catalysis and Catalytic Reaction Engineering (CECC) is a leading research center in the field of catalysis and catalytic reaction engineering in Thailand and South East Asian Region. The laboratory was established in 1979 as Petrochemical Laboratory in Department of Chemical Engineering by Professor Piyasan Praserthdam. In 2002, Chulalongkorn University has elevated the status of the laboratory to Center of Excellence, one of only two centers in Department of Chemical Engineering. With its research outputs and reputation, CECC has been named ‘Outstanding Center of Excellence’ by Ratchadaphiseksomphot Endowment Fund Award for Research Work from Chulalongkorn University in 2009, 2013, and 2017. After receiving the award for the third time, CECC has earned the ‘Hall of Fame’ status. Furthermore, CECC has received international recognition from hosting several international conferences, including the 23rd International Symposium on Catalytic Reaction Engineering in 2014 and the 8th Asia-Pacific Congress on Catalysis in 2018.
