Research Interest

My research background is in the synthesis of inorganic materials, especially nanomaterials, via various techniques. Examples include fabrication of flexible ceramic nanofibers by electrospinning. My work has shifted toward incorporation of nanostructured materials in micro-scaled channel for various applications and the use of microchannel to investigate reaction mechanisms.


  • Synthesis of photocatalysts, such as TiO2 or ZnO, in form of flexible nanofibers
  • Mechanistic study of surface-dependent adsorption on kinetics, reaction intermediates, and reaction pathway for photocatalytic degradation of residual herbicides in water
  • Electrochemical advanced oxidation in a microreactor for remediation of contaminated water
  • Simultaneous separation and recovery of metal ion by a novel nanofiber-supported liquid membrane operated in a microchannel
